Supporting Your Adventures
I bring fourteen years of experience in diverse mental health roles, as well as two master’s degrees—the first in sociology and the second in clinical mental health counseling. My work is grounded in respect for human agency, diversity, and the many valid ways people experience and make sense of the world. Reaching out for support takes courage, and I honor the persistence it takes to find care that truly fits.
I specialize in working with neurodivergent individuals, people navigating career and daily life challenges, LGBTQIA2S+ and BIPOC communities, and those adjusting to trauma, disability, or major life transitions. My approach is collaborative, contextual, and strengths-based, shaped by your goals, values, and lived experience.
My primary framework is narrative therapy, an empowerment-focused approach that helps you identify what no longer serves you and build preferred ways of living and relating. I also integrate somatic, sensory, and experiential techniques—tailored to your learning style—to support grounding, self-regulation, and growth. Above all, I strive to create a validating, inclusive space where you feel seen and supported.
I look forward to helping you gain the tools you need to make progress toward your goals. Please click on the envelope on top to submit an inquiry or you can send an email to linda@preferredstoriescounseling.com.
